Just about everything and anything that moves on the ground is moving in Central Park. Yet it is the horses not the pedicab drivers, the mothers heaving baby carriages across the road, the bicyclists and joggers pushing themselves into fitness the carriage horses, that they want to ban.

Prestur Arrives, but with a Problem!

We came down and met Prestur for the first time in the middle of the night. Of course, he was adorable. Then, early in the morning, we were thrilled to see him nurse. But we noticed something.... His left front hoof was doubled under! We panicked. Was my future and perfect riding horse going to be, at best, a lawn ornament....? We called vet. He came immediately. (Nice to have a friend and neig...

    Wonder what would happen if the rider sits a lil more quietly...without the e Essie hip/upperbody/ head bouncing. Just more suble moves might he.p the horse too. Never understood why riders have those Big movements of back anf fore...if in reality it's a sideways and forward/ backwards move...like a ba paddling in a bicycle.

    I love that everyone else was encouraging, and everyone had a good time! Just goes to show that the clothes and the breed don't matter, it's the horse's heart and the rider's ability!

    So sad. I am no world traveler but my stay with my wife and 2 kids at RR some 25 years ago was no doubt the most memorable and fun vacation of my life. The trail ride to breakfast on the ranch was amazing. Everything cooked on an open fire and hot coffee. I will never forget Roseland Ranch.

    I love how he is letting her ride this youngster on a pretty lose rein, its so important to wait with keeping the contact to the mouth. I love how he is using a simple bridle with a simple bit and no noseband. He is free to open his mouth or adjust to whatever discomfort he may feel. Its nice to see that this horse seems to relaxed when he is still so young. Great work by the rider!

    Hi. Love your thoughts on lose reins than soft contact without ask. Am just learning about horse/ riders in general and would be interested in your opinion on " driving " the horse with the seat- in this video a forward thrust of riders hips. Would I be wrong to understand that a horse rather swings left/ right ( and up/ down) in walk...which should move the rider right/ left ( and up/down?). If I move WITH the horse would it be easier for the horse to move more naturally? As I mentiond- I am a beginner in riding and understanding horse movements.

    Pretty soon we will all be driving around to work and shopping at 25 MPH in similar cars.

    • @riazhassan6570
      @riazhassan6570 2 роки тому

      We do 25 to 30 for shopping trips even now, sometimes in cars designed for speeds of 100 plus. You don’t really need to go much faster than thirty except intercity, for which forty-five or fifty should be enough. Cars such as these with some modern features would be more comfortable, less dangerous, more sedate and controllable and the cause of far less by way of accidents and deaths than the hurtling chunks of metal we see nowadays

  • @IT-zx5jc
    @IT-zx5jc 3 роки тому

    Wow very cool, in the beginning she thought she was riding tölt but the horse was doing tölt-pass, then later by going from small stepped walk she could go into clean tölt. I often du this on a small hill going down, they will naturally shorten their step as they are going on the walk downhill but they want to go faster as well (much as we), so you collect the horse more easily, and get beautiful clean steps of tölt. It is also good to do this on pavement, then you hear the sounds 1-2-3-4 much more easily so you are not going by fealing. The tölt-pass can actually feel like tölt but to onlookers they see it is not. But by using pavement (or a mirror or someone you ask to look) this is easier. I am training on my own and have no one to help me so this is the method I use. Of course it is much easier to have someone there to help, or if you have the money have a big mirror on the side of your riding arena. But naturally this is also a bit of a distraction as you need to look to the side and also only do the tölt right next to the mirror....
